Diamond League by Prosper Collection Returns for 2026
Diamond League returns to North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre for it’s 5th season, matched with a fresh batch of talented female athletes ready to battle it out.
Norths Basketball is excited to welcome back Diamond League by Prosper Collection for 2026, bringing together female athletes aged 14 to 17 for four rounds of competition at North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre, The Cave.
Supported by naming rights partner Prosper Collection, Diamond League provides a dedicated environment for young female athletes to compete, develop and experience the game in a new way. With six teams set to take the court across November and December, the 2026 season will combine competitive basketball with a format designed to reward consistency and performance across the tournament.
Six Teams. Four Rounds. One Winner
The 2026 Diamond League will feature six teams competing across four Thursday evenings at The Cave.
Rather than relying solely on a traditional win-loss ladder, the overall tournament winner will be determined by the total number of quarters won across the four rounds. The format, similar to preseason tournaments in the NBL and WNBL, rewards teams for their performance across each quarter and throughout the full competition.
Each round will also provide an opportunity for individual performances to be recognised, with a Diamond League panel selecting a Round MVP following each week's games.
The players for the 2026 Diamond League season have now been announced, with athletes preparing to represent their teams across four rounds of competition. Find out who’s playing here!
2026 Key dateS
Diamond League will run across November and December at North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre, with Media Day bringing participants together before the competition begins.
12 November: Media Day, education sessions and training
19 November: Round 1
26 November: Round 2
3 December: Round 3
10 December: Round 4 and conclusion of the tournament
All game rounds are scheduled for 5:20pm to 6:40pm for the dates listed above.
Introducing New power plays in 2026
A key feature of Diamond League is the inclusion of Power Plays, introducing specific rules that challenge players to adapt and make decisions in different game situations.
The 2026 Power Play rules are:
Backcourt inbounds: No check is required on backcourt inbounds, except for fouls.
Player timeouts: One player timeout per game.
No coaching: Coaching is not permitted during the Power Play.
Free throws: All free throws are awarded at maximum value.
These rules add another layer to the competition, encouraging players to communicate, make decisions and take greater ownership of their team's performance.
Recognising performance
Individual and team achievements will be recognised throughout the tournament.
A Round MVP will be selected by the Diamond League panel following each round. At the conclusion of Round 4 on Thursday 10 December, the Tournament MVP will also be announced.
Athletes do not need to have received a Round MVP award to be eligible for Tournament MVP, ensuring the overall recognition reflects performance across the season rather than a single game or round.
