REP TRIALS 2027
YOUR JOURNEY TO THE NEXT LEVEL STARTS HERE
TRIAL STRUCTURE
Download the rep trial handbook below to get all of the information you’ll need to know for 2027 rep trials.
2027 Representative Trial Handbook will be emailed to purchasing applicants.
If you do not receive this, please email Toby at reps@nsba.com.au
Each trial registration entitles the individual to attend up to two trials before any cuts are made.
You MUST attend both trial dates for your age group.
Due to the predicted number of players trialling, each age and gender will have a slightly different trial structure to accomodate the differing conditions each group displays.
The first trial for each boy’s age group will be split into bottom age and top age to manage the amount of players at each trial.
The girl’s age groups will trial together and there will be no split between top and bottom age.
Successful open trialists will be invited to Closed Trials following their first two Open Trials.
Current Norths Representative players will receive an email containing an access code for Closed Trials.
Open Trials vs Closed Trials
Open Trials -Non-Norths (transfer) rep players and players who have not played representative basketball previously.
Closed Trials - Attended by returning Norths rep players alongside those successful from the first cut of open trials.

FAQs
-
Unfortunately, if your child is not selected, they cannot retrial.
-
Previous rep players are not prioritised over new players.
The main consideration to player selection is their comparative skill at a representative level. -
Unfortunately they cannot.
-
If you played for any other BNSW representative club in 2025, you will need to complete an “Intent to Trial” form.
You can find it here.
-
You will be considered a transfer.
An association can historically only accept one transfer per team.Junior players can usually transfer freely between associations, unless they owe fees, the move would cause major problems for their old club, or it would create an unfair “super team”.
Each team has a cap on how many transfer players they can take, but players who missed the previous season can move without restriction, with only one exemption per team.More information on transfers and clearances can be found here.
-
No, you must attend the first trial session applicable to you.
Non-Norths players are to attend the open trial and returning Norths players are to attend the first combined trial.
