competition by-laws

by-laws

NSBA’s Domestic Competitions are governed by the NSBA Competition By-Laws.

rules on fill-ins

A team may organise fill-in players should their registered players be unavailable for a game.

Fill-in players are required to have an active Norths/BNSW Membership (this can include the 14-day pass).

Please note the following rules for fill-ins:

  • Each team is limited to a maximum of 3 fill-in players for any game, to bring the total players for that game up to six.

  • The fill-in player must not be on the roster for another team within the competition. (Eg. Monday Women’s B grade Team A player cannot fill-in for Monday Women B grade Team B.)

  • The fill-in player must not have filled in for another team within the competition. (Eg. Monday Women’s C grade Team A player cannot fill-in for Monday Women B grade Team B and Monday Women B grade Team C.)

  • Fill-in players must comply with the relevant uniform requirements or be penalised per clause 21.

  • If a fill-in player plays 3 or more games for a team they must be added to the team roster.

uniforms

Each team is required to supply their own uniforms. These uniforms need to meet the requirements in the Uniform Policy, found in the NSBA Competition By-Laws.

Please note, all players must have shorts without pockets.

Penalties apply to teams that are not in matching uniforms by Round 6 of the Competition.

Refer to by-law 21.9 for further information.

Forfeits

If your team is required to forfeit a game, please call the NSBA Front Desk (02 9906 7877) a minimum of 24hrs BEFORE YOUR GAME.

You MUST speak to someone; a voicemail is not an accepted forfeit notice.

Once you speak to a staff member, please follow the phone call up by emailing the following details to: nsisc@nsba.com.au

  • Team Name

  • Team Grade (including day played e.g. Monday Men’s B)

  • Opponent

  • Game Time

  • Reason for forfeiting

Penalties apply for late notice and repeated forfeits; see NSBA By-Law Clause 14.

duty requirement

Each team is required to complete Duty on their own game (excluding Premier Division Competitions). This means having ONE competent person to complete the scoring of the game. This can be a substitute player or a spectator.

A team that fails to provide Duty on 3 occasions will have the penalty applied in accordance with By-Law 16.6 (f).

fines

If you or your team is issued with a fine due to an infringement of the NSBA Competition By-Laws, you will have 14-days to make payment. All fine payments will go through the front desk and can be paid in person or over the phone.

Player conduct

All players and teams participating in an NSBA Competition are expected to conduct

themselves in accordance with the NSBA Competition By-Laws, Norths Players Code of Conduct and the BNSW Zero Tolerance Policy.

Penalties apply for players and teams who breach these policies. The penalties associated with breaches of the NSBA Competition By-Laws, Norths Players Code of Conduct and the BNSW Zero Tolerance Policy can be found in Clause 23 of the NSBA Competition By-Laws.

At NSBA’s discretion a team or player who continually breaches these policies may be removed from and/or not accepted back into NSBA Competitions.
