Sometimes it seems that the website is showing old/outdated information.
Why is this? |
.
This is most likely due to your cache. Web pages you visit are stored
on your hard disk for quick retrieval. If you ask your computer to view
a page and it finds the page in the cache, it may display the cached
page instead of the page from the Internet. Your ISP may also have it's
own cache system called a proxy server which acts as an intermediary
between your browser and the Internet. This is common for an ISP especially
if they have a slow link to the Internet.
TIPS: To ensure you get the latest information, you
can Refresh the web page by clicking the Refresh button
or pressing F5. To force your browser to bypass any
cache or proxy server and retrieve the page directly from the Internet,
hold down the SHIFT key whilst clicking Refresh.
Also, you should
manually clear your cache about once every 2 to 3 weeks. You can do
this by clicking Tools > Internet Options... Then,
under Temporary Internet Files click Delete Files...

The web pages seem squashed and the menu is partially cut off. Why? |
.
Your monitor may be set up at 800x600 resolution.
The NSBA website is designed to work best under the more common 1024x768
resolution.
1024x768 resolution allows for more pixels on screen, therefore increasing
your workspace and the amount of information you can view on screen.
To change your monitor's
resolution in Windows XP:
1. Right-click on your desktop and click Properties.
This will bring up the Display Properties dialog box.
2. Click on the Settings tab.
3. Click and drag the Screen Resolution slider to adjust
your resolution to "1024 by 768 pixels".
4. Click Apply to confirm the changes and enjoy the
difference.
